 Prof. Nikolai Demidenko

Nikolai Demidenko completed his studies at the Moscow Conservatory and was awarded prizes at the 1976 Montreal and the 1978 Tchaikovsky International competitions. He made his debut in the UK in 1985 and moved there in 1990. He is now visiting professor at the University of Surrey in addition to his extensive performing activities across the world.

He has appeared in solo recitals and in concerts in , among others, various European countries, the US, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

He has played with numerous symphonic and philarmonic orchestras including the LPO, LSO, RPO, the Halle, the Israel, Helsinki, Sao Paulo, Singapore, St. Petersburg and the Camerata Academica of Salzburg.

Nikolai Demidenko has participated in innovative performing projects such as the Beethoven Diabelli Variations and the Hammerklavier sonata with the Twyla Tharp Dance Company in London and Los Angeles respectively.

His discography is quite extensive and includes Gramophone and Classic CD awards. For the Hyperion label he has recorded CDs of Bach-Busoni (two issues), Chopin, Clementi, Liszt, Medtner, Musorgsky, Rachmaninov, Schubert and Schumann
