Lukas Vondracek

Born in the Czech Republic in 1987, Lukas began his studies at the Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland and at the Vienna Hochschule. He is now continuing his studies at the University of his home tocan, Ostrava.

His musical talents developed very early having given his first public performance at the tender age of four ! He as since then performed widely in the USA, UK, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic, among others. His appearances included performances with the Czech Philharmonic in Prague under the baton of maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy, on whose warm recommendation the Society is now presenting in Hong Kong this very young and very talented pianist.

Lukas has played in numerous festivals. These include the Ribbel Valley International Piano Week, the Warwick and Leamington Festival and the Buxton and Ryedale Festivals, the Gilmore re Festival, Ravinia Festival and the New York International Piano Series. He has played in major venues including the Queen Elisabeth Hall in London and the Carnegie Hall in New York and has appeared with various orchestras such as, among others, the St Petersburg Philharmonic. Future re plans include appearances with the NHK Symphony in Japan.
