GABRIEL KWOK

Gabriel Kwok was born in Hong Kong and studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Guy Jonson and later with Louis Kentner in London. He has been Head of Keyboard Studies at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts since 1989. A Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music in London, he is Visiting Professor at the Shenzhen Arts School, Xi’an Conservatory of Music, Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Wuhan Conservatory of Music and China Conservatory of Music in China. He has served on the faculty of the Cliburn Piano Institute (USA), International Institute for Young Musicians (USA), Colburn Academy Festival (USA), Art of the Piano (USA), Chetham’s International Piano Summer School (UK), Beijing International Music Festival and Academy (China), Beijing International Piano Festival (China), Shanghai International Piano Festival (China), Singapore International Piano Institute (Singapore), Asia International Piano Academy and Festival (Korea) and Tel-Hai International Piano Master Classes (Israel).

He has given many masterclasses in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Canada and USA.

Gabriel Kwok has been a jury member of many international competitions including the Asia Mozart Bicentenary, Rome, Vianna da Motta, Gina Bachauer, Hong Kong, China, Missouri Southern, Hilton Head, Minnesota Piano-e, Darmstadt Chopin, Japan PTNA, Rio de Janerio BNDES, Singapore Chopin, James Mottram , Asia Chopin International Piano Competition and China Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition.

He has collaborated with many distinguished artists in concerts, among whom were Pierre Amoyal, Alexander Ballie, Siegfried Behrend, Alan Civil, Eugene Fodor, Albert Markov, Yuri Mazurkevich, Clarence Myerscough, Roberta Peters, Qian Zhou, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Aaron Rosand, Nathaniel Rosen, Rohan de Saram, Hansjoerg Schellenberger, Jeffrey Solow, Leon Spierer, Richard Stolzman and Wang Jian. He has also been an Artist-in-Residence for Radio Television Hong Kong.

郭 嘉 特

郭嘉特於香港出生,就讀於英國倫敦皇家音樂學院，師事佳鍾遜，其後在倫敦隨路易士堅拿學習。一九八九年起擔任香演藝學院鍵盤樂系主任。二零零三年被推選為英國皇家音樂學院院士。

郭氏現為深圳藝術學校、西安音樂學院、星海音樂學院、武漢音樂學院及中國音樂學院客席教授；並多次在中國台灣、新加坡、韓國、英國、德國、荷蘭、葡萄牙、美國、加拿大、澳洲及新西蘭主持大師班。郭氏分別被邀請在美國德州克萊邦鋼琴夏季音樂營、美國堪蕯斯州國際青少年夏季音樂營、美國洛杉磯高賓學院音樂節、美國辛辛那提鋼琴藝術音樂節、北京國際音樂大師班夏令營、北京國際鋼琴藝術節、上海國際鋼琴大師班、新加坡國際鋼琴營、韓國亞洲國際鋼琴夏令營、韓國慶星國際鋼琴夏令營及以色列特拉海國際鋼琴大師班任教 。他曾於北京中央音樂學院、上海音樂學院、英國倫敦兩間皇家音樂學院、北方皇家音樂學院、倫敦喬凱音樂及戲劇學院、德國漢諾威音樂學院、荷蘭鹿特丹音樂學院、澳洲悉尼音樂學院、昆士蘭音樂學院、新西蘭烏克蘭大學、加拿大英屬哥倫比亞大學、美國卡內基美隆大學、辛辛那提音樂學院、伊士曼音樂學院、堪薩斯大學、西北大學、歐博林音樂學院、皮伯蒂音樂學院、羅斯福大學、三藩市音樂學院、天普大學、德州基督大學、耶魯大學等著名學府舉行大師班。他又曾在多項比賽中擔任評審，其中包括亞洲莫札特二百週年、意大利羅馬、葡萄牙維納莫特、美國真娜巴侯雅、香港、中國、美國南密蘇里、美國希爾頓島、美國明尼蘇達鋼琴、德國達姆施塔特蕭邦、日本PTNA、巴西BNDES、新加坡蕭邦、英國詹姆斯莫特拉姆、日本亞洲蕭邦及中國深圳國際鋼琴協奏曲比賽。

郭氏曾為香港電台第四台駐台演奏家。並經常在音樂會中擔任獨奏和伴奏，與多位著名演奏家合作，其中包括艾莫雅、貝利、貝爾倫、斯維爾、科特、呂思清、馬哥夫、馬沙高維治、米亞斯哥夫、貝特斯、錢舟、雷波爾、任蓉、羅珊德、盧信、杜沙霖、舒倫堡格、蘇奧盧、 史派拿、史圖斯曼、王健及薛偉。2014年，郭教授獲香港政府頒授榮譽勳章。
